2022 KIESELBERG Riesling GG

As regards the minerality, the often underrated GG Site Kieselberg is just as excellent as the more well-known sites in Forst. A typical Deidesheimer Grosses Gewächs with intensive, fleshy fruit, delicate spice, white peach.

In 2022, Kieselberg is somewhat more sparkling than the Forst sites. Ripe Braeburn apple, a hint of lime blossom and the subtle, crumbly phenolics of a quince compote result in a taut, yet balanced Riesling with a fine melt.

Soil:
Packed with large proportion of red sandstone pebbles that were washed up by the Rhine over 1,000 years ago and left on the plateau of what is known today as Kieselberg. On this calm ridge, the alternating wind and sun ensure healthy perfectly ripened grapes, even with a late harvest.
