2021 KIESELBERG Riesling GG

As regards the minerality, the often underrated GG Site Kieselberg is just as excellent as the more well-known sites in Forst. A typical Deidesheimer Grosses Gewächs with ntensive, fleshy fruit, delicate spice, white peach.

This is the sixth vintage of our Kieselberg as a VDP.Grosses Gewächs. The site has long been classified as a Premier Cru, but we decided to wait until the vine roots in our top parcel were suitable old and rooted deeper allowing this wine to mature into a higher quality.

Soil:
Packed with large proportion of red sandstone pebbles that were washed up by the Rhine over 1,000 years ago and left on the plateau of what is known today as Kieselberg. On this calm ridge, the alternating wind and sun ensure healthy perfectly ripened grapes, even with a late harvest.
