2023 JESUITENGARTEN Riesling GG

In the Bavarian site classification of 1828, Forster Jesuitengarten was rated the second highest. This is where the difference to the 2022 vintage is probably most apparent. In comparison, 2022 was rather slender and elegant, while 2023 is much more baroque and voluminous. An almost “outrageous” opulence, which is charmingly accentuated by subtle
woody aromas. The acidity is also significantly milder than in the previous year and fits perfectly with the gentle style of this wine.

Soil:
Jesuitengarten differs from Kirchenstück only by a slightly higher concentration of basalt. The more exposed vineyard allows cool air to pass through on warm summer evenings helping to keep the acidity in the grapes more pronounced than in Kirchenstück.
