2017 KIESELBERG Riesling GG

The third vintage of our Kieselberg as Grand Cru. The extensive green harvest in July has again led to an enormous concentration of fruit in 2017 while maintaining its freshness and sophistication. A typical Deidesheimer GG has intense fleshy fruit, fine spice and an enticing melt.

The often underestimated Grand Cru site Kieselberg is in no way inferior to the far better known Grand Cru sites in Forst, especially in terms of minerality. This is a typical Deidesheim GG with intense, fleshy fruit, fine spice and a mesmerising, melting finish.

Soil:
Packed with large proportion of red sandstone pebbles that were washed up by the Rhine over 1,000 years ago and left on the plateau of what is known today as Kieselberg. On this calm ridge, the alternating wind and sun ensure healthy perfectly ripened grapes, even with a late harvest.
