2017 FREUNDSTÜCK Riesling GG

Directly adjacent to the better known Kirchenstück, Freundstück has first-class soil and is an exceptional Grand Cru in every respect. Due to the radical selection of only the very best grapes for our Grand Crus, we harvested a mere double barrel for the 2017 vintage. The only of our GGs to be left on full lees in a Yppstaler oak barrel until April. Similar to the 2015 and 2016 vintage, it is one of our most Burgundy like GG’s.

Soil:
Red sandstone paired with some limestone boulders and a hint of basalt on the surface. The smallest of the Forst sites located directly on the edge of town between Kirchenstück and Ungeheuer.
