2019 FREUNDSTÜCK Riesling GG

Directly adjacent to the better known Kirchenstück, Freundstück has first-class soil and is an exceptional Grand Cru in every respect. The only of our GG’s, to be left on full lees in a Yppstaler oak barrel until February 2020. The 2019 vintage presents itself somewhat leaner than, for example, a 2015 classic Forst.

Soil:
Red sandstone is paired with some limestone boulders and a hint of basalt on the surface. The smallest of the Forst sites is located directly on the edge of town between Kirchenstück and Ungeheuer.
